OurStory
Built on Legacy.
Driven by
Purpose.
The St. Jago Champions Association is an alumni-led organisation dedicated to supporting students at St. Jago High School in Spanish Town, Jamaica — one of the oldest continuously operated schools in the Western Hemisphere, founded in 1744. We exist because every young person who walks through those gates deserves the facilities, mentorship and resources to reach their full potential — just as our most celebrated alumni did.
From Yohan Blake to the Penn Relays champions of the 90s — the St. Jago legacy is built on belief, grit and community. We’re here to keep that alive.
One of the oldest continuously operated schools in the Western Hemisphere.
Producing world-class athletes, scholars, military officers and performing artists.
Alumni who have competed and won at the highest levels of global athletics.
Our History
School Founded as Beckford & Smith
Established in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica, St. Jago High School would go on to become one of the most storied institutions in the Caribbean.
Track & Field Programme Established
The school’s athletics programme began producing nationally competitive athletes, laying the groundwork for what would become one of Jamaica’s most feared high school track programmes.
Penn Relays Dominance — 1990s
St. Jago athletes dominated the Penn Relays through the 1990s. The 1995 4×400, the 1996 4×100 (41.14), and the 1999 college 4×400 cemented the school’s international reputation.
Yohan Blake — 100m World Champion 2011
St. Jago alumnus Yohan Blake became 2011 World Champion in the 100m, confirming St. Jago’s place among the great athletics schools of the world.
Champions Association — The Next Generation
The St. Jago Champions Association channels alumni passion worldwide into tangible support — funding facilities, physiotherapy, equipment and mentorship programmes.

Core Values
Good Facilities
World-class athletes need world-class training environments. We fund and maintain the infrastructure that makes excellence possible.
Training Gear
No athlete should be held back by lack of equipment. We supply quality gear, nutrition and resources to every athlete in the programme.
Build Confidence
We invest in the whole person — not just the athlete. Mentorship, guidance and belief are as important as the training itself.
Empower & Inspire
By connecting students with successful alumni, we show what is possible and ignite the ambition of the next generation.
